That's what time I am starting this blog and I really don't know how I'm awake. I guess it must've been that 45 minute power nap I got a while ago. Today, primarily was a good day...
I guess I should start with last night since I didn't get the chance to blog last night. Yesterday was an average Friday at school and it was a good night. I hung out with Bob, Amanda, and Jordan at her house and it was a good time. Bob and I played nerf with Ethan and Tyler and then we just sat there and watched the news for a while. Sounds kinda weird, but I had a great time. Good company I guess. After that I went to dinner with my mom at IHOP which was delicious and it was especially nice because it was just me and her. I love my mom to death.
Then my journey began this morning. I woke up at 5 am to get on the megabus at 6:40. The first 2 and 1/2 hours went by smoothly until we got to our stop at State College. We got a flat tire there and I was stuck on that damn bus for an extra 3 and 1/2 hours. By the time we got on the road again it was 1 o'clock.
The remaining 5 hour drive went by quick, I slept most of it away. But when we got close to New York I made sure I was up. I wanted to see the city as soon as I could. There really is nothing like looking at the city's skyline from a distance. That, along with the rush I get whenever I come out of the Lincoln Tunnel is unmatched in their overall appeal.
I met up with John and Jarrett on 7th and 34th and we then went on a mission to find Joe Lach. We found him at an H&M that was two blocks away from the H&M we told him we were at. From there we wandered around aimlessly waiting for Jarrett's friend Brian to get in. He got in around 7 and from there John, Joe, and I headed to dinner. We ate at an upscale French restaurant and I had the best steak of my life. Dinner was over around 9:15 and we were trying to catch the 9:25 train but we were 15 blocks away. We gave a valiant effort, but both John and Joe's stamina is lacking. Probably because even though they ran cross country in high school they both walked the whole time and on several occasions smoked cigars before practice. We rode the subway instead, which I didn't mind. We got back into the Bronx around 10:30 and John and Joe decided to buy some beer, cider, and a $6 bottle of wine for the night. Back at John's apartment we sat around and those two drank and I just enjoyed their company. Joe Lach is by far the funniest, most deranged person I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know. I dozed off somewhere around 1:30 and woke up 45 minutes later whenever Jarrett and Brian got back. We all bull crapped a little longer and now those guys are all asleep and I'm blogging from my phone.
Since megabus messed up my trip here so badly I got a ticket for free for Sunday night at 11. That means I can spend all day Sunday in my favorite city in the world. And what's even better is I get to spend it with some of my favorite people, family.
I guess if there was any life lesson to be had from this it is that. Surround yourself with good people, and good times will follow. I am among good people, and I know I will have a good time tomorrow.
Back home I have the best 6 best friends I could ask for. Ty, Jared, Dave, Ethan, Ashley, and Amanda are truly my best friends. I love them all to death and I can't wait for next year when I can go and visit them at their respective schools and hopefully they will come visit me in the big apple. Those 6 friends are a group I'd go to war for. I realize I have made mistakes with each of them and have pissed them off on numerous occasions. But I hope that overall they say good things about me and that they would go to war for me too. I hate when
I let them down, but I will do what I have to to make amends. Idk if you guys will read this, but if you do know that I love each and every one of you. Like family.
Please someone remind me tomorrow to include my thoughts on the subway in my blog. I have an interesting take on it. I'm too tired to write anymore though, so this is goodnight.
